Our Methods

With PhDs in Computer Science working in conjunction with active multi-doctor practices, we carefully analyzed a pediatric practice's workflow. The practice we studied used a 'quaint' legacy system that presented numerous inefficiencies. We redesigned things from the ground up, using a simple and intuitive web-based system and well-accepted, open software standards. The result is the modern PedOne® System. Every step of the way, we checked things with the MDs and staff to make sure things work according to real-world requirements. Pediatric dosing hints, straightforward categorization of diagnoses and procedures into common buckets, and other time-saving shortcuts are built in. The result is a system that is easy to use, has a lot of specialized domain knowledge, and is quite powerful and flexible.

2. Scheduler Note how the visit reason shows up when the mouse is on or near the appointment. From here, you can also cancel the appointment, move it, or edit and change patient information.
3. ICD9 and CPT Codes. The system maintains custom pediatric codes for fast performance (a subset of the massive AMA CPT and ICD9 codes).
4. Feedback. The system has an easy way to send developers wish-list feature suggestions or bug reports.
