Our company was established in 2005 with the intent of working closely with MD Pediatricians at small private practices to establish and implement best practices in Pediatrics. The founding partner, Dr. Mark Ginsburg, has a PhD in Information Systems from New York University and is on the national IEEE Medical Technology Policy Committee (MTPC).
This includes the front-office (scheduling), the patient care (doctor interviews and nurse assessments and immunizations), and the back-office billing and claims handling.
To accomplish this task, we took note of the range of existing vendor products for the small private practice and took steps to improve on the interface experience and workflow to expedite the recording of the patient visit. We use a live beta-testing site small pediatric practice in Tucson, Arizona to refine the product offering.
We won an Arizona State Department of Commerce "AZFAST" Grant in 2005 to develop the concept further and position ourselves for Federal grant submissions.
We have close ties with computer science and engineering students at the University of Arizona. For the Academic 2006-7 year, we worked with six Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) interns.
The overall aim is to have top-notch software engineers work in close concert with practicing MDs and RNs as the PedOne™ product continues to evolve.
